چکیده
Abdus Salam was a truly unique man with great achievements not only in phycisc but also in promoting science in developing countries. His place in the annals of science as one of the finest physicists in this century is assured. He is certainly immortalized with his work on the unification of electromagnetic and weak interactions. His achievements in physics extend beyond this monumental work. He contributed many important ideas in particle physics, covering important aspects of renormalization theory, spontaneous symmetry breaking, grand unified theories, superspace, string theory and supermembrane theory.
